I found that Publix All Natural PB is the one that works for us. It's just peanuts and salt. Not organic and not unsalted of course but after trying all the options, it was the one that worked for us in terms of taste, consistency, & price. I can't afford organic due to our volume but couldn't go unsalted or w/ a different brand due to taste and consistency. I have so many other things I want to ask you about. Guess we need to get that playdate organized. ;) -KaraJeremy and Karahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10294537207932707784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5953434993161345941.post-36065532798149893102011-07-30T07:44:34.443-07:002011-07-30T07:44:34.443-07:00Thank you guys! We have been committed to trying to make changes for several months now and feel like we are just now celebrating some of our baby steps that have turned into the new normal. I also have figured out where I was a little overzealous in the beginning...with a bunch of things I *wish* we could do but just can't right now.

Victoria,
I will have to check out that show...I believe to a certain extent in just the 5 ingredient rule because generally speaking if it has few ingredients the ingredients are probably not too bad. But, we have cut out added sugars or sweeteners of any kind, artificial dyes, flavorings, and perservatives and trying to reduce vegetable oils. So, even if it only has 5 ingredients if it has something we are cutting I am still not going to buy it except occassionally.

I also think that 100 days of real food says that she doesn't look at nutritional values but just makes sure they are eating a good variety of real food. That is probably not a bad approach but I am too much of a control and detail freak to disregard the nutritial values.Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12353576229612014776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5953434993161345941.post-29880699391536245022011-07-30T05:30:05.345-07:002011-07-30T05:30:05.345-07:00Awesome post Tina!! I am going to try and put some of those in place.Alicia Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04485418214729726432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5953434993161345941.post-18983802697117443262011-07-29T12:31:10.508-07:002011-07-29T12:31:10.508-07:00Wow you are making a lot of changes. All of those...Wow you are making a lot of changes. All of those are pretty drastic changes, so give yourself credit as you and the kids get used to it. It will take time for you to develop a stash of easy go-to melas & snacks. We eat red beans & rice about once a week - does that count in your rules? That is a pretty simple meal, and inexpensive. Have you watched the tv show Five Ingredient Fix? She is not concerned with healthy as much as few ingredients.Victoriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10755891185200879035noreply@blogger.com
